In time Mr. Sasso advanced to journeyman electrician, master electrician, and then ran his own electrical contracting business for six years. Setting his sights higher, he desired to be an electrical inspector. This was soon realized and he worked for many government agencies. He is certified as an electrical inspector and an electrical plans examiner. He worked as a Chief Electrical Inspector for over 3 years, supervising a group of 10 electrical inspectors. Nick Sasso has received the highest certifications in his field, including the highly coveted Chief Electrical Code Analyst certificate, and the Electrical Code Official certification from the International Code Council. Due to his strong credentials and a willingness to serve, he was appointed to the Florida Building Code Administrators Board in 2005, by Governor Jeb Bush. He was subsequently reappointed by Governor Charlie Crist. Nick Sasso currently works as an electrical inspector, and sits on code-making panel (CMP-5) which helps craft the 2017 National Electrical Code. Mr. Sasso is one of the nation's foremost experts with respect to building and electrical codes, and his opinion is often sought from other industry leaders to solve difficult and unusual problems and situations.
