When it comes to electrical experience and the National Electrical Code, one could say that Nick Sasso has run the gamut. He started his career over twenty years ago as an electrician's helper. In time Mr. Sasso advanced to journeyman electrician, master electrician, and ran his electrical contracting business for over six years. Setting his sights higher, he desired to be an electrical inspector. This was soon realized and he worked for many government agencies. He is certified as an electrical inspector and an electrical plans examiner. He worked as a Chief Electrical Inspector, supervising a group of 10 electrical inspectors in the height of Florida's building boom. Nick Sasso has received the highest certifications in his field, including the highly coveted Chief Electrical Code Analyst certificate, and the Electrical Code Official certification from the International Code Council. Due to his strong credentials and a willingness to serve, he was appointed to the Florida Building Code Administrators Board in 2005. He was subsequently reappointed. Nick Sasso currently works as an electrical plans examiner. In 2014, he was appointed to Code Panel 5 (grounding and bonding) for the National Electrical Code. In 2019, Nick was appointed to Code Panel 9 (switchboards and panelboards) for the National Electrical Code. In addition, Nick Sasso serves on UL standards committees STP 1081 (Swimming Pool Pumps, Filters, and Chlorinators), STP 2452 (Swimming Pool and Spa Cover Operators), STP 22 (Amusement and Gaming Machines). STP 3030 (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - Drones), and STP 1389 (Plant Oil Extraction Equipment). Mr. Sasso is one of the nations foremost experts with respect to building and electrical codes, and his opinion is often sought from other industry leaders to solve difficult and unusual problems.
